COMMUNITY SERVICE REPORT from Kerry Welch
As far as community service goes, I talked to Susan King at PHP and she said they were open by appointment to distribute emergency food baskets, but they had plenty of soap right now and didn't think they needed any donations this month. I also talked to Mary Jackson at the Republic Pregnancy Resource Center and she said that they are cutting their hours and not having appointments or letting anyone shop their store. They are only handing out wipes and diapers through the door. So I don't think we really have to donate anything, which might be okay since a lot of people are staying in and money is tight for many right now. I'm sure either one of these organizations could always use a monetary donation gift at anytime if someone wanted to do something. Keep collecting pop tabs and Best Choice Labels and we will let you know that when things calm down, we will check in with both organizations to see what they might be running short on.

INFORMATION AND PROTECTIVE SERVICES from Ann Webb
With social distancing and self-isolation increasingly becoming the norm (and, in many cases, a government mandate) during the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of Americans are actively avoiding the crowds at Costco and the grocery store in favor of shopping online. But the packages you order on the Internet aren’t exactly sterile. They’ve each likely been touched by multiple people—the person who put your food or item in the package, the person who loaded it onto a truck, the person who hands you your bag or box, and so on. How careful should you be?

LEGISLATIVE REPORT from Jenifer Young
Take this time to contact your state Representatives and Senators and remind them that we need our COLAs and that you are watching their votes. We have no one in the Capitol to lobby for us. We will need to call, email or write. Don’t let our elected officials forget us.

RETIREMENT REPORT from Lisa Jones
The health and well-being of our members is a top priority; therefore, we are changing our remaining March and April Pre-Retirement Planning Seminars to webinars. A webinar allows you to obtain the education and information you need, without the potential health risk that comes with being in a large room of people. Go to Retirement Page for more information.
Our Retirement Page also has information from PSRS/PEERS "Confidence in Your Benefit During This Challenging Time"
